Last year, the operating income of Fortune 500 enterprises reached 33 trillion US dollars, a record high, close to the sum of the GDP of China and the United States. The threshold to enter the ranking (minimum sales revenue) also increased from 24.8 billion US dollars to 25.4 billion US dollars.
The most striking change in this year's ranking is that Chinese Mainland companies have achieved a historic leap: last year, the number of companies in Chinese Mainland (including Hong Kong) has reached 124. In addition to enterprises in Taiwan, there are 133 companies in China. Among them, Sinopec, State Grid and PetroChina ranked second, third and fourth respectively.
